Taylor's First Date!!! (Trust me it is only for the dance!)

Well last night was another huge milestone in Taylor's High School life. She had her first Homecoming dance. She went with her friend Nick and they went out to a nice dinner first with some friends at Tanglewood in Gig Harbor and then went to the dance. Taylor was very calm, yet excited until about 30 prior to Nick and his mom coming to pick Taylor up for the night. At that time, she got very nervous!! When Nick came to the door, he was very nervous as well. I got to meet his mom and of course, we took pictures, which made both of the kids more nervous. I got to pick her up from the dance and Nick was a complete gentleman. He walked her to the car, opened the car door for her, made sure she was in and then closed the door for her. She had such a fun time and was so happy. It was very exciting and yet, nerve wrecking for me. She is too young for all this to be happening!! I remember her still being 3 and into everything, running around, bossing anyone that would listen and completely exhausting me, yet creating so many funny memories that I cherish so much now. Her are a few of the many pictures I have that she will yell at me for posting...Oh well, what can I say but "Taylor deal with it, you know I love you!!"

I know it's been awhile.

Well...it's been awhile and I guess a lot has happened, but it's been so busy that much has been a blur. I do know that Taylor started High School this September!! Unbelievable to me. Her first month of school she was choosen as student of the month! That was really exciting to me. She is doing really good in school and really enjoying her drawing class. She has made some wonderful drawings that I will try to get up on this site soon.

Taylor will be going to her first Homecoming Dance in a few weeks! I still remember going to my dances and that makes me feel young, however that was well over 20 years ago!

Well, thought I would at least write a little tidbit for now, but will try to get back onto the blogging thing. The only problem is that Taylor wont let me take too many pictures of her, so I will try to sneak a few here or there when I get lucky.

Have a great day all!!

Sisters throughout time...

I thought these two pictures were too cute. Suzanne had pointed out this weekend that Taylor and Elexa are the same age difference of Kyla and Jill. I just thought that the pictures showed "sisterness" through out time...whether it is step or not! Kinda reminds me of my sister! Love you, Suz!

Bellingham...WOW!!!

Whatcom Falls...beautiful!!

Lex and Jill.

We had such a fun weekend. It was Kyla's 5th Birthday and we went to stay with the Carlsons in Bellingham. We were able to go visit Kyla's old preschool and the beach that it is at. We also went to Whatcom Falls that was absolutely spectacular. I never realized the beauty that is in Bellingham! We hated to leave, especially when we hit all the traffic in the Seattle area! Thank you to Ted, Suzanne, Kyla and Jill for such a great time! We want to do it again soon...hopefully they will let us come back!!

End of 8th Grade for Taylor

It is very rare for me to be able get any kind of picture of Taylor nowdays. This is Taylor with some of her friends from school before their 8th Grade Celebration tonight. She is at a dance until 9 pm tonight. In 1 1/2 days I will have a High Schooler in my house. I am terrified!! She looked so good tonight though! I love you Taylor!! And I am so proud of you!!!

Rainbow

Here are some pictures that Taylor was able to get of a beautiful rainbow that we had the other day. It was right at the end of our street. These pictures don't even do it justice! Enjoy!

Sorry no pictures again.

Well, sorry I have no new pictures right now. Did want to fill you in on some things...Taylor is getting ready for her all district 8th grade dance, her 8th grade field trip and another dance called the 8th grade celebration. She is very excited about all of these happenings, as well as, school ending soon. I had a great time at her field trip and she even talked to me and told kids I was her mom! The kids really enjoyed the role playing and I learn some things I wish I would have learned at their age. It really was a great experience, especially when Taylor wasn't embarrased that I was there!

Elexa is coming to stay for the summer! She will be here on the 14th of June and we are looking forward to seeing her. We haven't seen her since last August. She sounds like she is excited to be coming and having some fun here. She'll be in 6th grade this coming school year. They are growing up so fast.

Lex is busy working with his rebar. He is having to travel a little further now days to jobs and it is starting to wear on him. But, he couldn't handle not doing it, and neither could we! He gets too antsy if he has more than 2 days off in a row.

I am busy, busy, busy with work. I am still really enjoying it and learning so much every day. Makes the day go by quick, but can be exhausting. I have a wonderful boss who treats me so well.

Anyhow, that's it for now. Love to you all and we are looking forward to all the summer has to bring us! Have a good day everyone and hope to see you soon!!!

My big day tomorrow...

Well, Friday I will be volunteering for a field trip with Taylor's school. I am really looking forward to it, except I have been told to pretend that I don't know Taylor. She told me very nicely. Anyhow, we are going to the Junior Achievement Center for some role playing into adult life and responsibilities. I am hoping that we will come back with some good knowledge and hope I can learn what ever I don't yet know...as I know that there is so much to learn!! Now that I am almost 40, I realize that I didn't know it all in my past years. Hey, it's only taken me less than 40 years to figure it out!! I'd say that's not too bad. Anyhow, off to bed to spend the day with a bunch of 8th graders! Have a good day everyone!

Our Fun Fun Weekend!!

Wow! Talk about a fun weekend! We were lucky to have Kyla and Jill stay the night on Saturday. We enjoyed their company so much. We had Jamba Juice, played in a fountain, got Burger King chicken fries, played with bubbles, had a slumber party on our living room floor, read books, watched a Go, Diego, Go movie, got new hats and so much more. What a treat for me! Taylor went out on a boat all day with her friend and missed out on our fun, but she had a blast too. She was sad that she missed the girls, but boat rides don't happen all the time. The girls got to spend some quality time with their counsin Roy instead. The girls even woke Lex up by cock-a-doodle doodling him and brought him coffee and Nutter Butter's in bed. Oh yeah, we also ate Nutter Butters too!!! Yum!! The girls are such sweethearts and such well behaved smart girls, I just love them so much. I miss them already! Thank you Kyla and Jill for making this last weekend so much fun!

I am getting excited!!!

I cannot wait till this weekend!! I get to have my two cutie nieces Kyla (Nutter Butter) and Jill (Worm - short for Wiggle Worm), for a night...of course one night is definitely not long enough!! I sure wish we lived closer to one another, as I miss them so much. I am also getting excited to see my 2 handsome nephews - Ryan and Luca, and other cutie niece - Nicole, this summer! I never get to see them and miss them so much too!

Taylor being almost 14 and going into high school next year shows me how fast they grow up and makes me wish I could see the little ones all the more before they grow up so fast. The sad thing is that we all live so far away.

So, to all my nieces and nephews...Aunt Michelle Loves and Misses you all soooo much!!! Hugs and Kisses to you all!

Nutter Butter and Worm - we are going to have so much fun!!! We can't wait!! Hey Kyla...That was easy!!!!!

Here are a few more pictures of my wonderful Mother's day. We got to spend it at Grandma and Grandpa D's house with our wonderful nieces Kyla and Jill and Aunt Suzanne and Uncle Ted and some cute little birdies in their nest. They are amazing!

My Wonderful Mother's Day

These are the beautiful tulips that Taylor bought for me. I didn't get a photo of my cute stuffed frog and my beautiful bouquet of fresh colored flowers. I have to say I got very spoiled. Taylor insisted on celebrating Spanish Mother's Day, which was the day before USA's Mother's Day, so I had a full Mother's Day weekend!! I loved it. I wish I would have gotten a picture of Taylor, Lex and me out at dinner Saturday night. Lex had a huge prime rib and Taylor ate a whole plate of crab legs! She was "grubbing it" as my niece, Kyla would say.

My Boy

Can't post about my daughter without posting about my son...Roy doing what he does best...Like mother like son! It is my favorite past time also, when I get a chance!

My Girl

Here is a picture of Taylor - kinda wish I could say in "Rare Form" but this is her and how she would like to dress most of the time...instead of "a little bit country and a little bit of rock-n-roll" she is a little bit girl, a little bit boy, a little dressy and a little laid back! Have to admit, she has her own style, but this is kinda cute though. I could never pull it off, but she can!!
